GET INVOLVED
WBEC ORV is a small, but mighty team who values the support and engagement of our corporate and WBE members to help us move our mission forward. We encourage our corporate and WBE members to get involved. Committee participation is an excellent way to meet fellow members, gain visibility for your business, and support WBEC ORV. Each committee is focused on mission critical areas and serves in both an advisory and supportive capacity.
Corporate Engagement Committee
The Corporate Engagement Committee works to actively identify and recruit companies for membership. This committee helps to garner feedback and input to increase corporate member value, assist with identifying potential corporate members within the region, and helps to identify corporate members in the major cities within the region to host corporate receptions.
Certification Committee
The Certification Review Committee assists in maintaining the integrity of the certification process and to help meet the goals of WBEC ORV, as well as its partners. Members of this volunteer committee are required to participate in WBENC led training programs. This committee is also responsible for recruiting members to serve as site visitors, who may or may not serve on the Certification Review Committee.
Events & Programing Committee
Events & Programming Committee supports the planning of program content relevant to our certified WBE and corporate members and meets programming requirements of WBENC. The committee evaluates existing program offerings, oversees new program development, and facilitates discussions regarding programming priorities that help build our membership throughout the Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia region.
Communications & Marketing Committee
Communications & Marketing Committee leads WBEC ORV’s marketing and communications strategy and oversees a consistent and active communication strategy for the purposes of recruitment, messaging, and branding. This committee contributes expertise to assist in establishing organizational marketing, branding and communication plans and initiatives; to support strategies and development for marketing communications channels and web presence; and to evaluate effectiveness of marketing initiatives.
Catch the Wave Regional Conference Volunteers
Conference onsite volunteers support WBEC ORV with our annual Catch the Wave Regional Conference by assisting with registration, hospitality, workshop session hosts, and event assistance. Prior to Catch the Wave, volunteers solicit donations for the fundraiser, the Trailblazer’s Honorees Charity of Choice and the Sheila A. Mixon Women’s Entrepreneurial Start Up Fund.
